Job Summary:

The Senior IT Systems Engineer will be working with Senior IT management to ensure delivery of Project and task-based initiatives. This individual is responsible for taking the lead to establish and optimize Voyager’s next generation IT environment and operations. This individual works directly with the business, leaders in Information Technology (IT) and continues the development & support of Voyager’s IT Operations function. As a member of the Voyager IT team the individual provides a broad range of services and support to the organization including networking, deskside technologies, corporate security, IT Infrastructure, and data access/governance.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

Managing the IT environment

• Authoring and editing scripts, such as PowerShell and similar.
• Manage AWS End User services (Workspaces, storage, backups).
• Manage infrastructure services (network, operating systems, storage, backups, etc.).
• Manage standards and enforce security practices for all systems in collaboration with IT Security Team (MFA, conditional access, etc.).
• Manage the AWS based storage environment for laboratory-based instruments.
• Manage Hybrid Domain environment.
• Administration of Microsoft Azure, Intune, Autopilot, Teams, OneDrive, and Office 365.
• Management of Intune and Autopilot
• Manage network connectivity and user access for lab instrument systems.
• Coordinate with lab systems owners to enable vendor access to new and existing laboratory systems.
• Creation of deployment packages for Intune/Autopilot
• Management of MDM solutions
• Configuration of Conditional Access Policies
• Familiarity with Change control and Patch Management

Maintaining the IT environment

• System maintenance, patching, OS upgrades, etc. for Windows; Collaboration with our MSP partner
• Assists and mentors the Desktop Support team with internal support requests. Responding to High Level Escalations
• Provide White Glove Service to VIP
• Develop and Foster Relationships with key Stakeholders.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation, references, and procedures.

Developing the IT environment

• Participate in transformation projects and in the improvement of IT tools and processes (with the help of Power Apps, web, SaaS, Powershell, etc.).
• Integrate Cloud environments (Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc.).
• Collaborate in the evolution of existing technologies by recommending solutions to improve the reliability and capabilities of systems and tools.
• Laboratory Database Migrations to AWS
• AWS environment creation to support R&D team
• Participate in cross functional Projects
• Experience with Boomi and creating API connections to different systems

Requirements:

Educational Requirements:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in computer science, information technology, or related technical field
• Microsoft certification(s) preferred (MCSE/MCSA/MCP)
• AWS Certification(s) required (SAA-C03) or above
• Networking Certification(s) required (Network +, CCNA or CCNP)

Experience:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Technology with 3+ years’ experience in working with escalated tickets
• Applicants must have previous experience in Biotechnology/Pharma companies.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki networking hardware/software
• Experience managing a hybrid Windows environment
• Experience Managing a Hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience Managing Networking environments. SD-WAN configuration and administration.
• Experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Experience managing AWS organizations.
• Boomi Experience
• Familiarity with UTM/security features and functionality (IDS/IPS, dynamic VPN’s, content preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of the Office 365 suite (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint lists, Intune, Autopilot, etc.) and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with MDM configuration and Management
• Autopilot deployment configuration experience
• Experience in creating application package deployments (Intune or SCCM)
• Excellent attention to detail, customer service skills, multi-tasking skills, ticket management/documentation skills, written and verbal communication skills required.
• Familiarity with API configurations
• Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products.
• Proficiency with networking equipment (Firewall/Switches) configurations
• Experience in maintaining databases
