The Opportunity:

Verona Pharma is currently recruiting a Director/Associate Director of Field Reimbursement to join our team, reporting to the Senior Director, Payor Accounts. The Director/Associate Director of Field Reimbursement is a key customer-facing (field based) role within the Verona Pharma’s Market Access Team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for developing and implementing the field reimbursement strategy to maximize patient access as well as assisting the build out of the operational capability of the Verona Pharma’s Field Reimbursement Team and educating, coaching, and navigating the field reimbursement team and appropriate providers through the reimbursement landscape for Ensifentrine.

This is a remote position (with frequent travel), and we are open to candidates based in the East Coast or Midwest regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate, coach, and lead a team of 6 Field Reimbursement Managers
  • Responsible to execute the field reimbursement strategy and oversee the success of the Field Reimbursement Team
  • Initial responsibility will be to work with the Verona commercial team to design and implement launch ready plans related to the Field Reimbursement Team
  • Additional responsibility may include involvement in regional payor and Medicaid coverage meetings and to provide market access education and approved materials and messaging to field sales personnel.
  • Assist in development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding HUB, Specialty Pharmacy, Field Reimbursement Managers, and interactions with Field Sales teams to support appropriate access to therapy.
  • Create training materials and deliver educational programs to Field Reimbursement Managers, Field Sales, targeted HCPs, Medical Directors, Billing Personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Work closely with the Market Access Team, Patient Services Operations, and Training to develop FRM resource tool kit.
  • Provide proactive field-based reimbursement education to internal and external stakeholders by identifying and educating around reimbursement issues and sharing successes.
  • Educate and communicate technical knowledge of patient enrollment process, payor coverage policies, prior authorization process, appeals process, patient support programs, and HUB operations to HCPs and targeted accounts.
  • Play a significant role in strategy development and execution in preparation or response to marketplace changes regarding reimbursement.
  • Provide on-going education and training to address reimbursement challenges encountered by field team.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings with sales, market access, and marketing to ensure alignment and understanding of the access landscape, issues, and field reimbursement strategy.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Prior experience leading a Field Reimbursement Team
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience as a Field Reimbursement Manager within pharmaceutical/biotech or account-based reimbursement management
  • Documented, successful track record in field reimbursement or in pharma/biotech sales/management with products that required significant payer and reimbursement support
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the complex regulatory environment including a deep understanding of policies and guidelines around PHI/HIPPA and adherence to all compliance polices
  • Excellent working knowledge of evolving reimbursement landscape (government and commercial payors) and the practice management environment
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the patient journey from enrollment to dispense
  • Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of Patient Access Programs and managing patient journey via HUB and Specialty Pharmacy distribution
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Launch experience preferred
  • The travel expectation is 50-60% depending on where you will reside
