The Opportunity:Verona Pharma is currently recruiting a Manager, Information Technology, to join our team, reporting to the Executive Director, Information Technology. In the role of Manager, Information Technology, you will manage the operational support of the enterprise and commercial information technology applications and systems. You will provide ongoing hands-on application support to internal departments for the various software, manage enhancements, computer system validation, and provide training for software. You will also ensure adherence to regulatory policies and procedures within the industry.Remote working and flexibility are important parts of our culture at Verona. However, we are looking for candidates based in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area as you will periodically be required to go into the Raleigh office for key meetings, training, and other activities as needed.To be successful in this role, you must partner and work effectively and collaboratively with business stakeholders to implement changes, updates, troubleshoot issues to find solutions, and provide excellent customer service. You must also embrace Cloud-based solutions and outsourced services and be willing to approach technical problems with new ideas and continuous innovation. Responsibilities:
- Assist with defining the total lifecycle management for enterprise and commercial applications.
- Assist with current and proposed information technology systems and applications initiatives ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term strategy.
- Manage multiple vendor relationships, assess new technologies, identify risk mitigation strategies, and explore alternative solutions as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and maintain effective controls (e.g., ITGC/SOX, GxP) adapting to changes in products, business processes, and technology solutions for proactive management and automated testing.
- Responsible for assessing and managing IT compliance for ITGC/SOX controls.
- Act as a liaison between internal and external auditors for all SOX audit concerns, facilitation of meetings, annual walkthroughs, quarter user access reviews, and discussion of remediation activities for identified deficiencies.
- Contribute to the implementation and execution of applications, including procedures, roadmaps, timelines, and accountability.
- Report on applications’ effectiveness and efficiency and develop approaches for improving or evolving these systems.
- Assist with defining business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide user support and maintenance of applications.
- Develop and provide user education and training for assigned applications.
- Responsible for activities to ensure system availability, uptime, and optimal performance.
- Ensure users are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.
- Assist as needed in delivering accurate reports and data to stakeholders.
- Maintain professional, industry, regulation, and technical knowledge.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or other technology-related field..
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional work experience. Recent experience in pharmaceuticals is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of SOX experience and proven experience in supporting audit and compliance functions, including ITGC, access reviews and segregation of duties.
- Practical experience with Computer System Validation (CSV) of GxP systems.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (e.g., SOX, FDA Part 11 & GxP).
- Proven track record for successfully implementing, administering, and managing Cloud applications and services.
- Successful vendor management and experience resourcing partners.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience with a service-based model of IT delivery (ITIL) or similar models if preferred.
- Strong listening, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for cybersecurity and overall technology innovations.
- May be required to travel as needed.
