Summary:
This role is responsible for inventory planning and inventory management across our entire global network of suppliers and storage sites. This position plays a key role in ensuring Vaxcyte can execute its manufacturing plans on time, supply patients and deliver accurate and compliant financial reporting. This role will work closely with colleagues in Supply planning, Logistics, Quality, Process Development, Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) and Finance.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain up to date and accurate view of Vaxcyte inventory including Drug Product, Drug Substance, Intermediates and Raw Materials at each of our Suppliers, CMOs and storage sites.
  • Key information to be maintained includes batch, quantity, location, quality status, regulatory status, expiry date and version.
  • Provide Supply Planning and Quality groups a proactive view of batches that are approaching their expiry date. Confirm if shelf-life extension is possible and monitor progress to implement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) vs target for each material including production yield, concentration, consumption rate and waste.
  • Identify KPI performance trends and risks and work with Process Development, MSAT and Supply Planning to align on modified expectations as needed.
  • Monitor Vaxcyte production plans and identify the appropriate batches and containers to allocate to this production based on quality status, version, shelf life, regulatory status, sampling requirements and waste minimization.
  • Respond to material requests from Process Development and allocate inventory to their requests as appropriate.
  • Prepare shipping requests to transfer inventory to the locations where it is required.
  • Monitor our capacity utilization of subzero storage space and support capacity planning analysis.
  • Improve processes and tools for collecting and tracking inventory and production data.
  • Respond to questions from Finance regarding current inventory levels and transaction history.
  • Support standard costing process.
  • Work with Suppliers. Storage sites and Finance to schedule and perform periodic inventory reviews and audits.
  • Support design and implementation on an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) for inventory management related activities.
  • Support design and execution of the recall process.
  • Perform other supply chain related activities and projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • B.S. / B.A. degree.
  • 3 – 6+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing or supply chain setting (pharma or biotech highly preferred).
  • Familiar with Inventory Mgmt & Supply Chain processes.
  • Microsoft Excel Experience.
  • Database experience preferred.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Very Organized.
  • Strong Analytic Skills.
  • Problem Solving Mindset and Skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • All Vaxcyte employees require vaccination against COVID-19.

Location: San Carlos, CA
Compensation:
The compensation package will be competitive and includes comprehensive benefits and an equity component.
Salary Range: $130,000 – $156,000
