The Sr Staff Commodity Business Manager is responsible for managing strategic sourcing activities to ensure continuous supply to production and NPI. Including spend analytics, savings and initiative tracking, sourcing tool configuration and application. Candidate will focus on end-to- end sourcing process, including supply base analysis, supplier selection, RFP preparation and analysis and KPI development/tracking. The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound knowledge of negotiation strategies and extensive experience in a similar role.

What You’ll Be Doing [Essential Duties/Responsibilities]

  • Developing and implementing key commodities roadmaps (Life Science preferred)
  • Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
  • Drive Market analysis, supplier selection per category as Reagents, distribution channels, plastics, packaging and capital equipment.
  • Prepare and execute RFI/RFPs and lead bid analysis and evaluation.
  • Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques focusing on business continuity as well as reducing Sole and Single sources.
  • Maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships.
  • Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws
  • Follow regulatory and ISO 13485.

What You’ll Bring to the Team [Competency/Qualifications]

  • B.A at Business, Industrial Eng, Life Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ Years’ experience as a Global Sourcing leader or in a similar position.
  • Deep knowhow commodity strategies development.
  • Experience with RFQ implementation and execution
  • Superb communication skills.
  • Advanced ability to collaborate and negotiate.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to develop, promote, and maintain strategic sourcing relationships.
  • Able to analyze, prepare, and deliver presentations to management. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. SAP knowhow preferred.
  • Experience in Life Science industry and/or Reagents commodities management background preferred.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.

$150,000$172,000 USD
