General Scope and Summary

Sage Therapeutics is searching for a creative, resourceful, integrative thinker for an important role as Procurement Analyst. This role assists in maintaining a portfolio of contracts and business relationships within the CFO Organization as well as other procurement related activities. This role involves administrative support that requires applying analytical, project management, and systems management skills as well as expertise with computer systems enabling efficient navigation and management of several databases related to contracts/purchase orders. The Procurement Analyst will work with the Associate Director of Procurement and Accounts Payable to process contracts including confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, work orders, etc. as well as submitting purchase requisitions and other procurement related activities.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and business owners to execute contracts and related documents

  • Liaise with the Legal Contracts team and business owner(s) as needed

  • Assist Finance to allow timely execution of basic and complex contracts.

  • Obtain required documents, onboard new suppliers and maintain the Vendor Master File

  • Support fraud prevention and SOX compliance efforts

  • Conduct employee training on Procurement process and Oracle.

  • Review purchase requisitions and convert to purchase orders ensuring data accuracy

  • Seek opportunities for business process development and/or improvement of internal processes and capabilities that contribute to successful pursuit of collaborations with vendors and partners.

  • Perform data analysis on supplier spend and recommend cost saving proposals

  • Aid Accounts Payable for invoice resolution

  • Ad Hoc reporting and other duties as needed

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Procurement

  • Strong MS Office knowledge and experience working with ERP system (s) required, Oracle Cloud experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, effective working collaboratively with cross functional team members and with external partners

  • BA/BS with a major in Business Management or Finance preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the Pharmaceutical/Life Science Industry is strongly preferred

  • Experience using a Contract Management System, Novatus is a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to drill-in to operational details while maintaining appropriate whole-company perspective (zoom-in, zoom-out), strong analytical skills with superior attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, with limited supervision

  • Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes.
