How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As a Sr. Software Engineer I, you will lead our Informatics Software group’s User Interface team, developing services to accelerate the pace of R&D. The User Interface team innovates the presentation layer for all Intellia’s scientific data. We are seeking an individual passionate about delivering the scientist an engaging interface to their data through Intellia’s Informatics Portal. Main responsibilities include:

  • Lead development and security of Informatics Portal

  • Communicate effectively with management, scientists, and the software team

  • Own software design and translate into well-defined features actionable for developers

  • Lead iterative product development engagements with stakeholders

  • Fulfill operational responsibilities for services distributed in cloud environment

  • Own User Interface GitHub sub-organization

  • Introduce and incorporate robust and scalable solutions capable of meeting organizational goals

About You:

You are interested in delivering software services supporting your colleagues' need to move efficiently. Our ideal candidate will have a BS/MS in Computer Science or related field and biotech industry experience. We currently work as a team in a hybrid work environment. The team heavily utilizes GitHub for project management and source control.

Skills and technologies required include:

  • Reliably organize, prioritize and schedule work in accordance with iterative development cycle

  • Transparently communicate project status to stakeholders

  • Skilled at writing work statements, internal and external technical documentation

  • Experience writing client-side JavaScript with front-end frameworks (e.g., VueJS/NuxtJS, React/Next)

  • Strong fundamentals in HTML and CSS

  • Proficiency with front-end unit and end-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Vitest, Cypress)

  • Expertise in web security and optimization (TLS/SSL, NGINX)

  • Programmatic experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of TypeScript

  • Experience orchestrating dependent workflows with GitHub Actions

Informatics at Intellia consists of the Software and Computational Sciences teams. The computational scientist develops genomic pipelines while maintaining strict data integrity and quality standards. Software engineers work with their scientific counterparts to streamline workflows and create web-based data services with high regard for integrity and security. Additionally, the Software team performs development and operational functions for our AWS environment.

We are primarily remote with occasional laboratory visits when onsite testing is required. By utilizing modern collaboration platforms and tooling we have maintained a high level of productivity.
