ImmPACT Bio is a clinical-stage company, headquartered in the Los Angeles area, and with a subsidiary in Israel, developing novel cell therapies for treating cancer. The company’s next-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell technologies are based on Boolean logic-gate approaches and address key biological challenges for engineered T cell therapies including relapse due to antigen loss/escape; on-target, off-tumor toxicities; and the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.

ImmPACT Bio is looking for an exceptional individual to join our growing team as Research Associate, Process Development. This position will report to the Head of Process Development and be responsible for contributing to the process development of autologous CAR-T cells to enable clinical trials. Under minimal supervision, you will be expected to design and perform experiments, organize, and carefully document results, analyze and interpret results, and communicate findings.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Research Associate, Process Development will center around evaluating and implementing process improvements and product characterization within manufacturing to streamline operations, reduce overall risk and ensure reliable generation of therapeutic products.

  • Contribute substantially to the development of manufacturing processes for autologous CAR-T cells
  • Executes studies to facilitate development of cell therapy processes enabling clinical trials.
  • Specific areas of focus for this position includes immunophenotyping using flow cytometry, ddPCR, ELISA and other cell-based assays for product characterization
  • Executes process development studies to develop a thorough understanding of operating and performance parameters (Design space).
  • Providing feedback and working with the team to troubleshoot and design studies
  • Generate, analyze and interpret data to provide recommendations for next steps and process improvements
  • Provide and present data to internal and external team members
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail when executing studies and protocols
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to prepare and review study documents, including protocols, amendments, manuals, study reports, and other regulatory documents.
  • Maintaining inventory, ordering reagents and materials and maintaining stocks
  • Support other initiatives as directed by process sciences leadership
  • Work schedule will be from Wednesday to Sunday (weekend work required for this role)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Expertise in cell characterization using flow cytometry including data analysis is highly preferable
  • Experience in Process design, cliniMACS, Sepax, cell culture bags, CRF and other relevant technologies.
  • Proficiency in ddPCR, ELISA and other molecular/cell based assays
  • Experience in cell culture for primary human cells, preferably T cells.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work under various timeline pressures, and drive tasks to completion
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a diverse team environment in support of team goals.
  • Experience with basic Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)
  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods and work on weekends

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with T cell therapy, cell or gene therapy a plus
  • Knowledge of cellular immunology is a plus

Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
Salary Range
$85,054$117,051 USD
