​​About the Role:

As a Pharmacy Technician Area Manager, you will be responsible for managing the pharmacy technician team. This management role will plan and coordinate special pharmacy projects. Budget, labor planning and payroll are a few of the work functions that this position will oversee. Additionally, as Pharmacy Technician Manager you will collaborate across a variety of teams in the company including fulfillment, operations, order management and finance. You will report to the Head Pharmacist.

You Will:

  • Manage the pharmacy technician team from pharmacy technician trainees to lead technicians.
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching for pharmacy technicians and support personnel.
  • Utilize labor modeling information to create a pharmacy technician schedule and holiday schedule.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally operation, fulfillment, inventory, order management, finance, and pharmacy teams.
  • Establish functional statements, job descriptions and recommend disciplinary actions, promotions, and awards.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams for the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures in the pharmacy.
  • Create daily workflow plans ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly tasks are being completed in a prioritized fashion.
  • Review company based metrics for team and performance management purposes.
  • Coordinate special pharmacy projects and supervise their completion.
  • Manage payroll approvals for the pharmacy technician team.
  • Delegate tasks, workflow items, and station assignments (including shipping) to the pharmacy technician team.
  • Lead pharmacy technician team effort by accomplishing related results.
  • Develop a daily, weekly, and monthly pharmacy technician task sheet, downtime task sheet.
  • Establish accountability standards for pharmacy technicians based on job responsibilities.
  • Maintain all security and privacy rules regarding the use and handling of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with federal and state HIPAA regulations
  • Attend all pharmacy team meetings as necessary
  • Follow all state and pharmacy regulations and rules as designated by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
  • Maintain a safe pharmacy environment by complying with standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to strict infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

You Have:

  • 5+ years of manager-level experience in a pharmacy setting
  • National Certified Pharmacy Technician license (EXCPT or PTCB)
  • Active Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the Arizona Board of Pharmacy
  • Effective knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy
  • Payroll management
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and promote company culture
  • Experience working in long-term care, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy as a registered pharmacy technician.
  • Vendor and staffing agency relationships
  • Labor planning experience
  • Data analysis experience
  • Budget planning

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.

Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for this role.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location.
