Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates and assist with scheduling vendors for repairs, maintenance, and services.
  • Helps maintain and supports the management of service agreement contracts for both, Lab Operations and Facilities.
  • Serve as the main point person to enter assets, events, and other pertinent information and documentation into BMRAM.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, including but not limited to, providing seating assignment, making name placard, activating badge, parking assignment, setting up desk/work area, etc.
  • Responsible for following through on FreshService ticket requests for both facilities and lab in a timely manner.
  • Assist in shipping for domestic and international shipments of materials, including the preparation of material for shipment and receiving from external vendors.
  • Assist with conference room configuration requests and support special events, as needed.
  • Support organizational processes such as annual laboratory cleanouts, de-frosting of freezers, micropipette calibrations, freezer/refrigerator inventory, and consumables inventory.
  • Assist in maintaining cryogenics and compressed gases, including but not limited to placing requests with external vendor, monitoring, and swapping out cylinders and dewars.
  • Handle biological waste and hazardous waste.
  • Collaborate with internal partners including HR, Legal, Procurement, IT, etc.
  • Assist general lab organization and ensure cleanliness of the lab and facility.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by identifying, reporting, and eliminating potential workplace hazards
  • Become DOT, IATA/DG Certified
  • Site coverage: Massachusetts sites (11 Hurley St., One Main Street – Cambridge; occasionally: Waltham)

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities:

  • Prior lab operations experience and data entry experience is a plus.
  • Customer service focused, with an excellent work ethic and an optimistic attitude.
  • Highly motivated, fast learner, organized, detail-oriented, and devoted to project goals
  • Able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues and management teams
  • Proactive and able to work well independently within a fast-paced environment where schedules sometimes change
  • Experience with compressed air, gas cylinders, lab equipment, and handling biological and hazardous waste a plus

Education & Relevant Work Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree preferred, not required

Physical & Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 55 lbs.
