What if you could repair broken genes? That is the question we ask ourselves at Editas Medicine. We’re focused on translating the power and potential of the CRISPR/Cas9 and CRISPR/Cpf1 (also known as Cas12a) genome editing systems into a robust pipeline of medicines for people living with serious diseases around the world. Our goal is to discover, develop, manufacture, and commercialize transformative, durable, precision genomic medicines for many diseases. We’re looking for talented, dedicated, passionate people to join our team and help us pioneer this field and do big, bold things that have never been achieved before. Are you full of hope, possibilities, and a belief that, working together, we can truly revolutionize the development of medicines to help patients around the world? If the answer is yes, then Editas Medicine is the place for you.

Editas Medicine is seeking a motivated research associate to support the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) needs of a new class of therapies based on CRISPR-Cas gene editing. In this role, you will use your experience in NGS technologies (library prep, quality control, sequencing hardware) and targeted nucleic acid detection technologies (qPCR, droplet-based PCR) to help drive the successful translation of this technology into the clinic. The candidate will work on running existing processes as well as assist with transitioning new protocols into production. Experience with genomic DNA prep and developing new assays would be a plus. The position requires flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a capacity for creativity and innovation to achieve company goals.

  • B.S./M.S. in biology or related field with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Illumina library construction, DNA/RNA extraction, and lab automation systems. Experience with programing automation is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) instrumentation and interpreting NGS data.
  • Experience transitioning protocols from R&D to production is desirable: development, optimization and scale up of protocols including process documentation.
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented, timeline focused, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
