POSITION OVERVIEW:
Disc Medicine has a new role in its preclinical research group for an experienced and highly motivated Associate Scientist. Reporting to the VP, Head of Biology, this role will establish and maintain processes and systems to ensure proper project tracking and reporting on our drug discovery efforts. There will be no requirement for conducting hands-on experiments. With supervision, the successful candidate can manage studies conducted by CROs utilizing their excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate contract reviews, approvals, communications, and other activities related to preclinical research.
- Coordinate database registration of preclinical research activities, including implementation of the ELN notebook system.
- Database registration of reagent inventories.
- Assist in designing, planning, and executing in vitro/in vivo experiments conducted at CRO sites.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Experience with project management systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors or Master’s in biology or related field
- 3-5+ years of experience of industry experience working in cell biology and/or in vivo biology.
- Self-motivated and able to multi-task, with a capacity to handle multiple and changing priorities as well as fluctuations in the workload.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with CRO interactions is a plus.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Experience with project management systems is a plus.
