12-month TERM
TERM employee' means a project-specific employee holding a position for the time period specified above [OR: for 12 months], with a projected discharge date which may be adjusted according to funding limitations or completion of work. Employees hired to fill a TERM position enjoy all the benefits of a regular employee, including 401k, healthcare coverage, and ESPP, with the exception of equity grants and employment protection beyond the life of the designated project(s).
The Opportunity:
Denali Therapeutics is seeking a Biorepository Specialist in support of the company’s Translational Science and Clinical Operations groups. You will support Biomarker Operations for all Biomarker Biorepository activities for Clinical and Preclinical studies, and Biomarker collaborations.
You will also support the management of on-site and off-site biological samples and tissues owned by the Translational Science group.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in process improvement projects and maintain the biorepository Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database
- Accurately follow SOPs and work instructions to track, receive, and store samples using the biorepository LIMS system
- Work with Biomarker Scientists to fulfill sample requests and facilitate sample returns
- Prepare accurate sample manifests for outgoing shipments and Biomarker Scientists’ requests
- Receive incoming sample shipments and ensure sample integrity during unpacking, accessioning and banking
- Prepare outgoing shipments to comply with sample transportation regulations and ensure sample integrity during sample retrieval and packing
- Schedule outgoing shipments including international shipments and work with Denali Receiving and Shipping department, shipping carriers and destination laboratories to ensure samples arrive viable and on time
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory within LIMS
- Assist biorepository staff with special technical projects and infrastructure processes as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, medical technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ year work experience in a laboratory setting, ideally working with biological samples in a Biorepository
- Proficient with database entry (e.g., LIMS) and with Excel; additional technical experience preferred (excel coding, R programming, SQL, etc.)
- Commitment to teamwork and strong “can do” attitude
- Strong customer service focus
- Excellent organization skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in performing tasks that require high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team matrixed environment

Salary Range: $95,000- $111,667. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
