Senior Director of Medical Information and Scientific Communications

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Director of Medical Information and Communications to join our team.

The Opportunity:

In anticipation of the Company’s growth plans Denali Therapeutics is looking for a Senior Director of Medical Information and Communications. This role will be a key strategic leader within our Medical Affairs department, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive medical information and communication strategies to support healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders. This position will play a crucial role in providing accurate, timely, and relevant medical information while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement the overall medical information strategy to support Denali products and therapeutic areas.
  2. Oversee the creation and dissemination of medical content, including medical responses, FAQs, scientific publications, and educational materials for various audiences (healthcare professionals, patients, internal teams); ensure the accuracy, relevance, and consistency of content across all communication channels.
  3. Oversee the selection and management of relevant external vendor support as needed
  4. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to medical information and communication, as well as accurate and compliant medical content for promotional materials and other customer-facing materials.
  5. Collaborate cross functionally with Medical Science Liaisons, R&D, Regulatory, Legal, and Commercial to align medical information initiatives with stakeholder needs.
  6. Act as a primary point of contact for medical information inquiries from external stakeholders (HCPs, patients, caregivers, etc.), ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  7. Establish relevant SOPs to ensure process alignment across the organization.
  8. Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes for medical content to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and credibility.
  9. Publications - drive strategic publications direction, planning and focus of content across disease areas; partner on publications development across internal and external stakeholders while leveraging agency partners to help execute.
  10. Partner with corporate IT to design and execute on a digital / Web based platform to support Medical information and communications.
  11. Lead the development of the structure for future medical information group to support future approved Denali products.
  12. Provide guidance on complex medical information inquiries and develop other team members' expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) in life sciences or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of professional experience with greater than 5 years in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, with a substantial focus on medical information, medical communications, or medical affairs.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful medical information and communication strategies.
  • Previous experience managing functional budget including vendor relationships
  • Strong understanding of medical content development, global regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range: $248,000 to $277,333. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
