Cerevance is a drug discovery company dedicated to finding innovative new medicines for debilitating CNS disorders. The company’s unique NETSseq target identification platform profiles cell-type-specific gene expression in post-mortem human brain tissue obtained from healthy and diseased donors to identify novel targets for drug discovery. We have developed a robust project pipeline that includes preclinical discovery- and clinical-stage programs and have an experienced team of scientists. We are looking for an In Vitro Pharmacologist to join our team to support the progression of our exciting pipeline of drug discovery projects.
Job Description: In Vitro Pharmacologist
Our UK research operation based at the Cambridge Science Park (Cambridge, UK) is seeking to appoint a lab-based scientist into the In Vitro Pharmacology team. As a member of this group, you will have an integral role as part of Cerevance’s drug discovery project teams, contributing to the development of cascades of robust target-based assays and screening novel compounds derived from medicinal chemistry efforts. You will be responsible for developing and running cell-based, biochemical or biophysical assays with a meticulous and methodical approach to deliver high-quality screening and compound profiling data for our projects. Prior experience of cell culture, in vitro enzymatic assays or biophysical assays is highly advantageous.
This role will suit candidates who are keen to work within a vibrant neuroscience drug discovery environment as a part of a tight-knit multidisciplinary team that provides excellent opportunities to build a broad knowledge of how we progress our portfolio. Personal development is highly supported and encouraged and may include opportunities for conference participation, publication, line or project management responsibilities. Applicants to this role should have a PhD in a relevant biology related discipline or a BSc and considerable, relevant laboratory experience. Industry experience in Biotech or Pharma would be an advantage. This position requires a candidate who is highly organised, motivated, and versatile, with excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic.
