As Senior Manager, Logistics you will be responsible for transportation and storage of materials and finished goods (cold chain) in our entirely outsourced supply chains. You will be responsible for managing the Logistics team in Denmark, reporting to the Senior Director, Global Logistics and Distribution. As part of the daily operation, you will also have the full “hands-on” overview.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Leading the Logistics DK Team (currently four employees)
  • Updating and maintaining global procedures for shipping materials in/out of Ascendis Pharma sites and between contract partners.
  • Planning, booking and monitoring of shipments
  • Supplier relations management towards freight forwarders and storage facilities.
  • Managing and implementing transportation and storage providers, including negotiating commercial agreements and following up on performance.
  • Handling necessary documentation for customs clearance, ensuring compliance with regulations and appropriate licenses or permits.
  • Handling complaints and incidents for shipments and storage, including raising and handling deviations and CAPAs in Ascendis' Quality Management System
  • Ensuring adequate support for shipping processes in our ERP system, currently under implementation
  • Ensuring sufficient resources are present in the Logistics DK Team.

Ideally, you hold a BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or an equivalent education with more than 7 years of relevant work experience from the pharmaceutical industry and/or transportation, warehousing or distribution industry. You have experience with cold chain distribution and Good Distribution Practice. You have proven working experience as a logistics and/or shipping manager and a record of successful distribution and logistics management. Furthermore, you have demonstrated the ability to manage various internal and external stakeholders.

As a manager you have a motivating and inspiring approach. You are structured, organized and a proactive problem-solver.

You are proficient in English at a professional level, both written and spoken, and you master MS Office and preferable D365 Dynamics.

As a person you have a positive attitude, and you possess good communication and collaboration skills, which enable you to establish warm and respectful professional relations internally and externally. You are a “hands-on” individual who are interested in making a difference in a dynamic and exciting entrepreneurial environment. You are passionate, and able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. You like working in a highly regulated area. Finally, you have a personal commitment to delivering results and succeeding as a team.

Travel: 5-10 days per year.
