The Compliance & Ethics Operations Lead will support the day-to-day maintenance of compliance program operations across the respective teams.

The role will support business functions on day-to-day issues as well as participating in strategic projects. As a key member of the US Legal and Compliance Team, the individual must have the appropriate level of business and compliance experience, as well as sound judgment to advise the business on complex issues and processes. The individual must have prior experience in operationalizing various aspects of the compliance program and will be expected to support our US organization in the efforts to commercialize our pipeline products in the US. The position must be able to work independently, successfully, and collaboratively in a matrix environment.

The position will be in the Ascendis Pharma, Inc. Princeton, New Jersey office and report to the US General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist in supporting the day-to-day compliance program operations across multiple teams to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and company/client policies.
  • Collaborate with clients to assist in developing and implementing Compliance Business Rules, audit and monitoring plans and training for various teams.
  • Deliver live compliance training to employees.
  • Assist with development, implementation and continuous improvement of processes that drive compliant behavior across teams.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal business partners and clients to ensure objectives are met within defined timelines.
  • Support transparency reporting needs.
  • Create applicable work instructions to document internal and client specific compliance processes.
  • Help with special projects and other assigned duties.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate current working knowledge of various rules, regulations, and industry guidance relevant to healthcare compliance.
  • Strong familiarity with components of compliance programs; specific experience in training, communications and/or business process development.
  • Great interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally.
  • Ability to forge strong working relationships with employees in different disciplines and at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as appropriate judgment, independence, and discretion.
  • Ability to be proactive, exercise judgment and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize a high volume of work and independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills: ability to work through complex issues, including those with significant strategic risk to the company.
