POSITION SUMMARY

As a Production Operator, you’ll train in several functional areas within the manufacturing environment so you can effectively provide support to our production teams. Since safety is a top priority at Purina, much of your responsibility will focus on ensuring that our equipment and machinery remain in top-notch condition. Your ability to acclimate and problem solve quickly will be critically important as unforeseen equipment issues may arise throughout the normal operation day. You’ll have the opportunity to see our operations through the different shifts, working with experts in each of the different areas within manufacturing.   • Safely operates production equipment, including fork truck, packing lines and processing equipment.
  • Perform quality checks and meet product specifications.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace.
  • Perform sanitation duties and material handling.
  • Safely and efficiently operate, troubleshoot, and make minor repairs on operating equipment and use lock out procedures, as prescribed.
  • Utilize computer technology to effectively perform job requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

*Must be open and available to work nights and/or weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing, production, agriculture, warehouse, military or related environment

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $23.11 an hour for Operator E rate. The pay progression plan follows: Operator D $24.39, Operator C $27.43, Operator B $34.71. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
