POSITION SUMMARY

Our Nestlé Purina factory in Dunkirk is strategically located along Lake Erie’s Historic Chadwick Bay Harbor, which is situated 50 miles southwest of Buffalo, New York. With miles of Great Lakes waterfront and beaches, ski resorts, vineyards and boutique wineries, our associates are proud to call Dunkirk a hidden gem. Since its opening in 1971, various expansions to the processing and warehousing towers have taken place to accommodate increasing production of great brands like Pro Plan®, Beggin®, T-Bonz®, and Busy®. In 2016, the facility accomplished “Zero Waste to Landfill” status meaning all discarded materials are directed to destinations that specialize in recovering the ecological and/or economic value of the material. As a part of Nestlé sustainability efforts, we’ve also decreased our water usage by 20% since 2012 and power our production using 65% renewable energy, a number that continues to increase.

As a Relief Team Leader, you will provide primary coverage for Team Leaders and fill operator vacancies. You will be trained in all departments and step up into a supervisory role when the Team Leaders are out.

  • Work the floor as an operator
  • Function in a supervisory role to fill vacancies as needed
  • Assist department with product changeovers
  • Function as a primary key trainer in department
  • Coach & train direct reports, conduct performance evaluations, plan & prioritize work schedules

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years in experience in production, manufacturing, warehouse, or military related environment

OTHER

  • Must be comfortable working 2nd shift

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $20.18 an hour to start. The pay progression plan follows: Introductory Stage 1 $21.84, Introductory Stage 2 $24.02, Bid Operator rate $34.41 when fully qualified. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
