POSITION SUMMARY

Provides veterinary and nutrition expertise to help produce relevant communications, programs and products targeted at the veterinary professional and consumer.

  • Collaborate with R&D on new ingredient/nutrient, proof of concept, and clinical studies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the veterinary community that will drive Purina’s image in the veterinary profession.
  • Lead the clinical trial program and strategy for the Business and collaborate with R&D to demonstrate the efficacy of existing and future Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets and Supplements products.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Innovation & Renovation (I&R) to bring products through pipeline to launch.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop marketing collateral focused on the veterinary professional and consumer ensuring medical and nutritional accuracy.
  • Develop technical materials focused on the veterinary professional including, but not limited to In-Hospital Training and CE presentations, competitive analysis, and Daily Nutrition Matters modules (on-line CE program).
  • Provide scientific support and expertise to launch new products and promote growth of existing products
  • Key member of all core teams for I&R including the Global I&R team, and a consultant to the Product Technology Center, Technical Application Group technical teams and Purina Institute.
  • Deliver nutrition presentations at veterinary meetings, conferences, and symposia.
  • Educate new and existing Purina associates on nutrition and related veterinary medicine topics.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a go to in-house nutritional medical expert to all Purina Brands and cross-functional departments (ex. Legal, Regulatory, etc…) as needed.
  • Attend conferences to provide competitive insights


Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD), DACVIM (Nutrition)
  • 5 years experience in veterinary nutrition

Other

  • Knowledge of well pet and therapeutic nutrition required
  • Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, with ability to multitask, work on several projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative personality with the ability to work cross-functionally with high emotional intelligence
  • Able to work independently and prioritize projects and commitments
  • Travel- up to 30%

The approximate pay range for this position is $153,000 to $203,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
