POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Nestlé Development Center (NDC) in St. Joseph, MO is home to dogs and cats who help us learn, research, and better understand the well-being of pets and promote the human animal bond. When you join us, you'll work to ensure our pets have the best quality of care while participating in cutting edge pet food research. Research that contributes to innovative, first to market dietary solutions as well as trusted all life stage pet food. Our center is located near the metropolitan area of Kansas City, within 30 minutes of the Kansas City International airport. St. Joseph is a tight-knit, rural community packed with character, still within commuting distance to the city thus, providing many residential opportunities.
As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for organizing and performing the necessary veterinary procedures related to the health and welfare of the pets in the facility under general veterinary supervision.

  • Perform pet care procedures including assistance with routine veterinary care, animal observation during treatment, and husbandry duties
  • Maintain all health records as required by the record retention policy, the Animal Welfare Act, and all Nestlé Purina PetCare procedures and protocols
  • Provide clinical diagnostics and treatment plans for infirmary and colony pets
  • Assist with preparation, administration and monitoring of anesthesia and surgery support
  • Organize and perform dental prophylaxis and oral care programs
  • Assist as needed with breeding programs


Requirements

  • Associate degree in veterinary technology
  • Licensed Veterinary Technologist in the State of Missouri or the ability to become licensed in the State of Missouri
  • 1+ years of experience in professional veterinary work


Other

  • Weekend and holiday work are required for this role
  • Must be willing to work Sunday through Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday for 8 hours per day

The approximate pay range for this position is $50,000.00 to $65,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
