Position Summary

For thirty years, Nestlé Purina has been proud to call St. Joseph, MO home to two facilities, a wet pet food factory and our Product Technology Center (PTC) dedicated to research and development. The PTC is home to dogs and cats who help us learn, research and better understand the well-being of pets all while enjoying the best quality of life. Located an hour north of Kansas City, the community of 77,000 people is packed with character and a rich history – just like Nestlé Purina is. As an Associate Technician, Pilot Plant, you’ll be responsible for assisting with organization and performance of pilot plant trials and associated support work under general supervision. This is a skill/knowledge developmental position for a pilot plant technician position.


• Organize and prepare formulations, and perform pilot plant trials in a safe and efficient manner
• Set-up, operate, and clean food-processing equipment
• Organize and record data as outlined in the pilot plant request
• Prepare summaries of trial results with recommendations for processing/product improvements based on observations
• Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, Good Laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practices (GLP & GMP)
• Provide hands on support to Project Leaders, Pilot Plant Team Members, and others in pilot plant with preparation, execution, follow up, review, and process improvement with trial work

Requirements
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of manufacturing processing/operations experience OR an associate’s degree in industrial maintenance technology, electrical/mechanical technology, or a related field

Other
• 1+ years of experience within food and/or pet food manufacturing is preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work while 12 hours shifts with standing or walking
• Working knowledge of factory pet food/food processing equipment and operations is preferred

Must be willing to work Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm

The approximate pay range for this position is $40,000.00 to $55,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
