Position Summary:

Technical Product development lead on highly complex projects in the Nestle Nutrition Baby Food Division including: 1) new product introductions, 2) renovation of current and innovation of new products, 3) trials including quality improvements and cost saving initiatives, 4) maintenance of existing specifications for ingredients, 5) ensure supply for all products in the portfolio. 6) Assist the Sr. TAG Manager in managing all aspects of the Nestle Nutrition Healthy Snacks portfolio from an Operational perspective (cost, supply, compliance, etc). Actively seek new ideas which will lead to a competitive advantage while identifying and supporting cost reduction opportunities. Provide technical assistance to various internal departments to support business goals. Ensure that all Baby Food products conform to marketing and marketplace requirements, are compliant to Internal and external standards and are optimized with respect to cost, labor, machinery, handling and transport. Develop and maintain relationships with other Nestlé divisions and vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Introduction of new products/processes within factories and external manufacturers. Collaborate and influence internal and external project teams (Teams are made up of Project Managers, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Packaging, Factories, Marketing, Co-Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain, etc. to develop, industrialize, and launch on a complex range of Innovation and Renovation projects.
  • Continuously improve/optimize current Products and processes within factories and external manufacturers according to local business needs. Lead technical projects including technical assistance, sourcing, quality improvements, compliance, and productivity cost savings. This includes establishing and managing timelines, uncovering roadblocks, defining critical paths, and identifying resource constraints.
  • Provide first line support to external factories by acting as the coaching and training resource for product mastership and providing knowledge transfer related to Product mastership to eliminate the root cause of assistance requests
  • Ensure adherence to all quality/compliance by design, Technical acceptance and mandatory release standards. Comply with Nestlé requirements (Compliance assessment tool), external standards, and local regulatory framework.
  • Develop expertise for product/process mastership within TAG. Define, develop, and coach the competencies and training materials required for product/process mastership to enable manufacturing excellence. Provide guidance and input to Operations for Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Continuous improvement of technical skills and personal development. Provide coaching & mentorship to others to facilitate personal professional development.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Food Science, or similar technical engineering degree. Position requires approximately 25% travel
  • 6 - 8+ years of experience preferred in product development or related field of work
  • Experience with developing products for extruded snacks, bakery and dry filling processes desired
