DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a skilled, senior-level software testing professional to join our Quality Engineering practice. As a software quality engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating software functions and designing test protocols to ensure that products work as intended. You will also be responsible for completing all testing procedures, suggesting functional and non-functional changes, and reviewing test execution reports with others in the company.

You will be joining the European component of a global team. As such, you will be in a position to make a global impact while acting as a local expert and advocate for QE best practices.

To ensure success as a software quality engineer, you should have advanced knowledge of software design and engineering, a good eye for detail, and a natural gift for software troubleshooting. We are looking for a highly skilled software tester that is able to identify even the slightest flaw in software designs and suggests simple yet effective fixes while being equally comfortable contributing to the development and testing efforts across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate closely with our product, design, and science teams to understand the needs of our clients.
• Play a key role in the release cycle of our software, timely and properly identifying and filing issues.
• Maintain the framework of the automated tests, adding or updating test scenarios along with the development process.
• Design and create new testing capabilities where current ones are insufficient or ineffective.
• Create and maintain effective documentation on the tools and processes used in the software release cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to design and write complex software testing procedures.
• 5+ years Experience pioneering automated testing capabilities across broader technical organizations.
• 5+ years Experience working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions and debugging build and test execution logs.
• Strong coding capabilities in Java or JavaScript and comfortable with test automation for web browsers and web services.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and other markup languages.
• Experience with reporting bugs and making recommendations to improve the software product.
• Collaborative mindset and experience working with other software testers, developers, product professionals, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Expertise with source code management (SCM) technologies like GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket.

Preferred:

• Strong experience in Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and writing Gherkin feature files would be a plus.
• Experience working with distributed, service-oriented systems.
• Experience operating as part of a global, hybrid team
• Agile Methodology experience including practices such as extreme programming (XP), pair programming, TDD, or ATDD.
